Island Peak – Climb Over 6,100m in the Himalayas

Team: High Adventure Expeditions

Date: Oct, 2022

Application Form: Island Peak with High Adventure Expeditions

Cost: US$4,100 per person

Island Peak is 20,305ft high (6,189m) and located in the Khumbu region of Nepal. It is also known by the name Imja Tse.

The peak is a perfect introduction to Himalayan climbing. The expedition is short (less than three weeks), but the mountain provides fantastic climbing, including a summit ridge and pyramidal peak that are perfect for amazing photographs.

If you’re thinking about using Island Peak as a training climb for something bigger, you’re in great company. The mountain was first climbed in 1953 by the British team that used it as a training climb in warm-up for their successful first ascent of Mt Everest.
